There will be one free Racing Experience NEXTEL Cup Car ridealong winner drawn at the end of each seminar. You must attend to win. Select the seminars you would like to attend (check all that apply):

Proactive Maintenance Applications for Equipment Reliability
10:00-10:50 am, Wednesday, September 17
Using adhesive products during installation and repair to prevent failures and increase reliability. This seminar will cover threadlocking, thread sealing, gasketing and retaining cylindrical parts. The goal is to show you how to make your production equipment as high quality and totally reliable as your end product.

What’s OSHA Thinking Now?
11:00-11:50 am, Wednesday, September 17
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) develops its agenda and prioritizes its activities based on happenings in the general work environment. This presentation will review OSHA’s current national emphasis programs, including hexavalent chromium, changes to the respiratory protection standard to include the Bitrex® Protocol as the required qualitative fit testing procedure and combustible dusts. Local emphasis programs (Region VII) on amputations and forklift operations in construction and general industry will also be discussed.

Bearing Failure Analysis
11:30-12:20 pm, Wednesday, September 17
This presentation will cover handling, maintenance, application, bearing specification and mounting of a bearing including a demonstration on how to properly heat bearings and install them on the shaft. The leading cause of bearing failures is caused by lubrication. Koyo will discuss lubrication intervals, type of lubrication and grease compatibility. Also discussed will be the benefits of using sealed bearings and spend some time reviewing new seal design.

NASCAR: Nomenclature Anatomy Selection Care Application Review
12:00-12:50 pm, Wednesday, September 17
Review of gearing and high efficiency enclosed gear drives to evaluate which one is right for you. Gear drive applications discussed will include direct contact food/beverage lines and heavy industry.

Mechanical Drive Troubleshooting
1:00-1:50 pm, Wednesday, September 17
Attendees will learn how to calculate the relationships of power, speed and torque throughout a power system without the use of a calculator or formulas. They will also learn how to increase bearing life by visual inspection of location of sheaves and sprockets on cantilevered shafts.

Stop, Think & Act: An Electrical Academy Preview
2:00-2:50 pm, Wednesday, September 17
With electrical devices, you may not see, smell, hear or taste anything until something bad happens. When a problem occurs, it may be a residual problem caused by another device. IBT Electrical Academies emphasize understanding the devices and the interrelationships that exists among devices. Look at the how and what of electricity and four common devices: fuses, starters, variable frequency drives and AC electric motors. The goal is to minimize downtime by educating and encouraging students to understand their applications and fix the real problem, not the symptom. Stop. Think. ACT

How Safe Is That Safety Belt?
2:30-3:20 pm, Wednesday, September 17
See an actual demonstration of the forces generated during a typical industrial fall. Learn what you may not have known relative to new fall protection standards that can impact you and your workplace. An industry expert who has served on numerous fall protection committees will lead you through the basics of fall protection, as well as those tips that can actually “save your life.” Don’t be left “hanging.” Come learn from an expert!

Bearing Maintenance & Trouble-Free Operation
3:00-3:50 pm, Wednesday, September 17
Let Trouble-Free Operation (TFO) increase your machinery uptime and improve bottom line profitability. Attend this lively discussion on maintenance practices and unique problem solving products from SKF Bearings.

The Revolutionary 24 Volt Motor Driven Roller (MDR) Conveyor Solution
4:00-4:50 pm, Wednesday, September 17
Many factors enter into the equation when choosing an effective conveyor solution for your business. Included at the top of the list are safety, reliability and efficiency. MDR’s are widely used to meet those requirements and to achieve other benefits such as simplicity and flexibility. Since the drive train is distributed along the conveyor length, a single piece of equipment can perform multiple functions. This includes different speeds, multiple directions, and starting/stopping individual sections. This seminar will provide information on the application and the benefits of 24 volt MDR technology. Along with this you will also be introduced to Hytrol’s innovative E24™ solution which allows 24 volt technology to achieve new heights in achieving these benefits and more.

Specifying and Applying AC Drives
5:00-5:50 pm, Wednesday, September 17
Competitive manufacturing environments demand greater throughput, increased quality and less downtime. A system approach using AC drives can accomplish these needs. Learn how to specify AC drives for your applications with the right knowledge. Topics covered are basics of AC drive operation, application load profiles, common programming needs, understanding vector control and interfacing with remote controls.

How To Make Your Lube Program A Program
9:00-9:50 am, Thursday, September 18
This seminar will discuss the importance of a dedicated Lubricant Program and the techniques required to get full value from your Lubricants. There will be in-depth focus on lubricant handling, oil analysis, contamination control and lubricant applications. Taking control of your Lube Room will have a significant impact on the reliability of your equipment. Total cost of ownership can be greatly reduced through proper lubrication techniques and always using “Best Practices.”

Mounted Bearing Installation and Maintenance
10:00-10:50 am, Thursday, September 18
This class will focus on the proper installation and maintenance practices of pillow block and flange mounted ball and roller bearings. The class will also focus on the installation procedures of newer technology adapter mounted bearing products.

Shaft Couplings
11:00-11:50 am, Thursday, September 18
There is more to selecting the coupling than just the shaft size, torque/horsepower. This seminar will discuss issues faced in coupling selection which include; lack of Industry Standards, why proper selection is so important and the trade-offs in coupling selection. We will be reviewing eight of the most popular designs of general purpose couplings. There are dozens of others – some very specialized – and we will be answering questions pertaining to all of them.

Hydraulic Fluid Filtration and Conditioning
12:00-12:50 pm, Thursday, September 18
Whether you have a hydraulic power unit system or a lubrication system, 75% of all component failures are the direct result of contamination. This class will help you understand ISO and NAS cleanliness codes, selecting filter elements, contamination types….how and why it occurs. Also covered will be the effects of contamination on modern hydraulic systems.
